Ma uses less power than Chen ...

Forum rules
We hope that the Living in Taiwan forum will be of value to you and others. To ensure this, please note:

It is best to capitalize topics and to avoid vague titles. “Hi, I’m new” and “Help please” are examples of bad titles.

Before posting, please check the FAQ thread, and – more importantly – use the search function to ensure that your topic has not been discussed before and that there is not an existing thread you could update with your contribution.

While Living in Taiwan is a busy, wide-ranging forum, there are other specific forums for relationships, teaching, business, legal issues, animals, food, events, travel, restaurants, and so on. Check the Forumosa menu to find the most appropriate place for your post.

While it is preferable to post questions dealing with dissimilar topics in separate threads (“How Much for an Apartment in Tianmu?”, “Are There Many Foreigners in Tianmu?”), if you are a new arrival, it is possible to present numerous questions in one post, but realize that your thread will then, after two weeks, be merged into the New to Taiwan: Some Questions thread.

Ma uses less power than Chen ...

Postby Belgian Pie » 22 Apr 2012, 15:48

The usage of electricity for the Chunghsing Apartment (中興寓所) — the codename for President Ma Ying-jeou’s (馬英九) residence — has decreased by as much as 88 percent, when comparing its electricity bill last year with the usage of electricity in 2007 by then--president Chen Shui-bian’s (陳水扁) residence, a Presidential Office report said yesterday.

Why explicitly mention CSB? Why does Ma always have to point out he's better then CSB? Is it a competition?
The reason for using less power could be because Ma and his wife are less likely to be at home.

Maybe Chen had a marijuana growth room? That needs a lot of power! :ohreally:

Anyways, stop trashing on CSB, he's in jail already ...

I bet CSB is using even less electricity where he is living now...

Don't pander to the morons that write the papers, Belgian. It makes you as bad as them.

Why not mention CSB? If I was in power I'd be slagging shit at all of my opponents as well, because they would do exactly the same thing.

Wasn't CSB's wife in a wheelchair with a lot of health problems? If she had respirators or whatnot I'm sure that would take up a lot of power.
