Internet speeds

Am I just being paranoid, or has anybody else noticed this?
Every time I get a new internet set up (first was a phone line set up in my house, then a data card portable internet thingy that I used to connect anywhere, now I use my phone as a wifi hot spot) it works GREAT for about two months- speedy, fast log in, everything loads quickly...
Then, without fail, it starts to have problems. LIke when I open facebook, the photos won't even load. Youtube videos only play to a certain point then won't keep going, sometimes I get "You have no internet connection" error messages.
This has happened every time I get a new internet connection- GREAT service and speed for the first couple months, then it slows down and I have to turn it off then on again to get it going fast.
Is it some ploy by Zhonghua to get you to buy better service? Am I doing something wrong to make it slower? I'm not very technically talented so any insight would be great.

I'm on my second wireless usb stick thingy contract and they have both been fairly similar (Huawei and TW Mobile). 95% of the time I have no problems but at certain times of the day the speed slows right down. I found that Opera (a browser) loaded pages the fastest when the network was really busy. At around 10pm I often find that my wireless is faster than my building's broadband, which is strange.

I only have problems connecting when I forget to pay my bill.

Oh, and one, er, establishment I frequent has broadband (Hi-Net, I think) which cuts out all the %@cking time, so I just use wireless there.

Just you. Best internet experience I have ever had in Taiwan is with Zhonghua. Giganet was absolute crap and I'll never go back to anything else.

Can anybody give me any idea why this might be happening. Driving me up the f'ing wall.
If a page isn't loading, I end up turning off wifi on my computer, turning off the mobile ap on my phone, then turning it back on, turning the wifi back on, and then stuff will load quickly for about 5 min. It's like the phone has to be prompted to look for a signal again. The tower's right by my house (why hullo cancer!) so what's the problem? I'm gettin the shakes man, I need my internet in a bad way...
