Image 1 - ‘Oh, I think I will give my taxi a wash by using the free rain water that has just started dropping’

Image 2 - ‘Wash, wash wash - I don’t care about the fact that I have parked my taxi in the middle of two busy pedestrian crossings, and that there are now people having to walk around my car… I don’t care that I am endangering peoples lives, or risking a serious traffic accident —- I only care about ME - because I am a rude and selfish driver”

Image 3 - “Now I’ve finished washing, I feel quite tired, so I’ll stay here another five minutes to read my newspaper”

Image 4 - “I wish all that traffic would go away, I’m trying to relax!”

Image 5 - “Hey, what is that foreigner doing with the camera? I better make sure he doesn’t record my license plate, which is 861-CZ”

Welcome back to our special “Rude and Selfish Drivers (April 24, 2012)” ... This mother is teaching her young daughter how to park a motorbike … She’s off to the bank, so the first rule is to not care about anybody else, just park your bike in the middle of the doorway… “Forget those other free parking spaces just off to the right, I am too lazy to walk the distance”…

I have a whole collection of photos of cars (mostly fat businessman types strutting around looking important) parked on the pedestrian crossing on the big main road into Danshui, blocking an entire lane of traffic.

I was going to email them to the police. And then I had a think about it, and figured my time would be better spent trimming my toenails. The end result would be much the same, except that my toenails would look better.

That is terrible... and I better start paying more attention to who is photographing me and be more careful where I park my car and scooter...

I presume I'm not the only one that has often wanted to actually walk over those cars: pull myself up onto the hood and walk across, perhaps stomping a bit more heavily than usual, following the pedestrian crossing line. Of course, I never have, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it … but it'd be nice.

I presume I'm not the only one that has often wanted to actually walk over those cars: pull myself up onto the hood and walk across, perhaps stomping a bit more heavily than usual, following the pedestrian crossing line. Of course, I never have, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it … but it'd be nice.

I've had that thought once or twice.

But folks, two reminders:
1. No personal attacks.
2. And remember, "stupid, rude and selfish drivers" aren't restricted to Taiwan. Please see international owners lists of BMWs, Mercedes', Audis, Volvos and almost any model of 4x4 for reference.

So from the above insult, does this mean you have a very small nose? (and a definite lack of humor...)
There are hundreds of native Taiwanese sites that feature the same sorts of photos. I guess that makes me a 'bignose' like all other local Taiwanese?

Actually it wasn't meant to be an insult, sorry if it came across that way.

I am posting as a foreigner, but on the odd occasion (not commonly) I have been known to go with the flow and park my vehicle illegally, but never in a doorway. It was a poor attempt at humor in this case it seems

Odd thing is, coming where I come from I think they have big noses ...
