Coming home this lunchtime on a little trail over a hill a young man surprised us with his genitals.

The irony was, my son and I had walked right past him as he stood there with his pants round his ankles. He had to cough to get our attention.

I used to worry a bit about the stray dogs on that hill. Now it looks as though I'll have to watch out for the stray men too.

Little petrichor said - was he peeing? I didn't disabuse him of his conclusion. Why someone would be peeing with their trousers on the ground, facing the path, with no evidence of urine, and with a look of carnal desire in his eyes, are questions that didn't cross his little 8 year old mind.

I was more surprised and bemused than traumatised. And then regretful that I'd let a situation with so much potential for humour slip through my fingers. But I had to get the kid out of there before he got corrupted.
