I got flashed!

Forum rules
We hope that the Living in Taiwan forum will be of value to you and others. To ensure this, please note:

It is best to capitalize topics and to avoid vague titles. “Hi, I’m new” and “Help please” are examples of bad titles.

Before posting, please check the FAQ thread, and – more importantly – use the search function to ensure that your topic has not been discussed before and that there is not an existing thread you could update with your contribution.

While Living in Taiwan is a busy, wide-ranging forum, there are other specific forums for relationships, teaching, business, legal issues, animals, food, events, travel, restaurants, and so on. Check the Forumosa menu to find the most appropriate place for your post.

While it is preferable to post questions dealing with dissimilar topics in separate threads (“How Much for an Apartment in Tianmu?”, “Are There Many Foreigners in Tianmu?”), if you are a new arrival, it is possible to present numerous questions in one post, but realize that your thread will then, after two weeks, be merged into the New to Taiwan: Some Questions thread.

No idea if the OP is male or female.

Another of the great unfairnesses in life: Why do we blokes so seldom get flashed by ladies? Whereas most ladies find it offensive to be flashed by a man, regardless of his age or appearance, I’m sure that a high proportion of men would respond much more positively to being flashed by a comely woman, especially a young one. Of course, there are female flashers around, but apparently far fewer of them than their male counterparts.

One of my Taiwanese exes, a normal girl in every other respect and with a very normal enjoyment of sex, was a bit of a flasher. She was fond of going out and about in a shortish skirt with nothing underneath, and occasionally letting some lucky fellow get an eyeful of her delightful goodies (à la Britney Spears). She was a lovely lady with a very sexy figure, and had blokes all around panting after her no matter how much of her fleshly charms they could see, so she had absolutely no need to do it in order to attract attention or interest from the opposite sex.

I’ve also heard quite a few English teachers’ tales of adult students sitting in the front row of their class with legs parted to show off the natural glory of their vulval anatomy and adorning trim. I never had any such luck, though I was treated to plenty of displays of knicker during my happy teaching days here.

Actually, I believe that exhibitionism is a very natural and normal part of human sexual behaviour, and I suspect that flashing is an aberration that’s probably more likely to occur in a society where repressively conservative forces of religion, law and education thwart healthier displays of nudity.

Yes, there’s a world of difference between a creepy flasher and someone who enjoys flaunting their naked or near-naked body for appreciative eyes to enjoy. But some cannot see the distinction, and condemn any and every exposure of “shameful” parts of the body to a member of the opposite sex outside the boudoir or doctor’s room. There’s also a grey area where a display of flesh and foliage is narrowly on one side or other of the line between pleasing and queasing the beholder.

I don’t think many people would describe male strippers like the Chippendales as flashers, and I doubt that many heterosexual women would feel anything other than pleasure at the sight of their buck-nakedness; but they’re liable to be arrested and prosecuted under the same laws as flashers if they dare to perform their full show in Taiwan.
If I prioritized the acquisition of wealth above other purposes in life, I might still have come to Taiwan to study Chinese, but I doubt I would have remained here.

He had to cough to get our attention.

I hope his balls did "move" after the coughing!

Come to think of it, I was due a flashing. The last one was in Bournemouth in 1989.

I was flashed in Blackpool. It was an illuminating experience.

I say i mustve lived an extremely sheltered life so far because I have NEVER seen any gal in public showing off her pubic. Never seen any gal wearing a miniskirt with no undies. Surely an Urban Myth ?!

Come to think about it, I have been flashed a few times (by women), but I think what it comes down to is that women are more focused than men: those occasions were either directed specifically at me or a group of male friends and were, I think, more a case of "look what I've got!" than an invitation for a there-and-then shag. Men, on the other hand, are pretty much like this:

In other words, anything will do, with some having slightly higher standards than others. If you need proof, I'm certain most men have a mental porn tape of one particular incident that just won't respond to the 'delete' button.

Also, of course, when men flash, it's basically an aggressive act.

I say i mustve lived an extremely sheltered life so far because I have NEVER seen any gal in public showing off her pubic. Never seen any gal wearing a miniskirt with no undies. Surely an Urban Myth ?!

The only time this ever happened to me was in a supermarket, and the rather hefty girl in question was flashing something that reminded one of a slice of dead pig on the butcher's counter.

I was flashed in Blackpool. It was an illuminating experience.

Is there a method of delivering an online wedgie?

btw I think Bournemouth did have a brief period of being quite pleasant, after a bit of urban regeneration. It feels a bit crap again these days. But yeah, the surrounding areas are still nice.

I've been boob-flashed, but not vagina-flashed. Or penis-flashed, for that matter.

Sorry, this is a ridiculous post. First of all, it is anti-gay in some ways. A park is not beautiful because people are cottaging at night? I think one would hardly judge a park by what people do in the bathroom    I judge parks by how beautiful they are, the type of trees, the type of pathways, and how clean they are outside of the bathroom (clean bathrooms are nice). But I am much more concerned about needles from drug users than by what couples of any sex do in bathrooms.

Flashers becoming rapists? Flashing became a popular pastime in the 70s and a large segment of the population is exhibitionist to some degree. One just needs to go to the beaches in Europe, Thailand, or Australia to see some female exhibitionism at crowded beaches.

They should make a film starring Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore called, "Never been flashed." Blah blah one of them falls in love with a flasher blah blah they have a will they wont they get married scene blah blah end of film.
There are millions of people in the world. And none of those people is an extra. They're all leads in their own stories.

If you lose one sense, your other senses are enhanced. That's why people with no sense of humour have an increased sense of self-importance.
