Car badge modification ~ The newest ridiculous fad to hit Taiwan?

Forum rules
We hope that the Living in Taiwan forum will be of value to you and others. To ensure this, please note:

It is best to capitalize topics and to avoid vague titles. “Hi, I’m new” and “Help please” are examples of bad titles.

Before posting, please check the FAQ thread, and – more importantly – use the search function to ensure that your topic has not been discussed before and that there is not an existing thread you could update with your contribution.

While Living in Taiwan is a busy, wide-ranging forum, there are other specific forums for relationships, teaching, business, legal issues, animals, food, events, travel, restaurants, and so on. Check the Forumosa menu to find the most appropriate place for your post.

While it is preferable to post questions dealing with dissimilar topics in separate threads (“How Much for an Apartment in Tianmu?”, “Are There Many Foreigners in Tianmu?”), if you are a new arrival, it is possible to present numerous questions in one post, but realize that your thread will then, after two weeks, be merged into the New to Taiwan: Some Questions thread.

Yeah, he has done the full works on it. I'll grab a shot of it next time I see it down at the Co-op. :D
There are millions of people in the world. And none of those people is an extra. They're all leads in their own stories.

If you lose one sense, your other senses are enhanced. That's why people with no sense of humour have an increased sense of self-importance.

I like cars, but only older cars.
Cars today have absolutely no character. It is difficult for me to distinguish between a Toyota Tercel and a Lexus at ten paces. All cars now are either black, silver or white. They are all boring to drive no matter how many gadgets and buttons they have. When you lift up the bonnet you are confronted with what appears to be a plastic box rather than an engine.
If you offered me either a new Mercedes Benz or car from the 1960's, I'd choose the.......Mercedes Benz. Then I'd immediately sell it to buy several cars with character. Actually, perhaps just one car with character and some tools and parts so I can continue to maintain it. And a microwave because I need a microwave oven.
So it doesn't matter how many big exhausts, how many silly European plates from Japan, how many devil signs or stickers or microwave ovens you put on your cars - you're all driving the same, boring, dull contraptions that everyone else is driving around.*

The bones got the wrong detail I hoped it would have for you
Safe for a shin bone or even a hand
It's such a lonely ride...

If any new arrival needs assistance in Taipei, I can provide it in exchange for Star Trek or Supernatural (the TV series) stuff or other sci-fi materials. Let me know what help you need by PM, along with what you have to offer in return. And yes, I am serious.

How much would a fancy paint job be in Taiwan? Say, if I bought Doraemon's Nissan black car and want to spice it up. How much are we looking at here on the Island? Of course, it would depend on what I have in mind, but what I have in mind also depends on how much they would ask...

100% in agreement. Modern cars utter conformity make a joke out of car enthusiasts. Give me a Jeep, or a 60s V8 or a 70s landrover. Hell give me a Sinclair 5, the guy got massacred because he actually did something new and different.

The utter blandness of the modern safety era couched in it's pretentious of brand and class conjured up by corporate depts in alliance with people who are so easy to take money off. Even having a colour beyond black, white or silver is a step too far for many!
