Two blonds eat their way throughTaiwan

Moderator: Tempo Gain

Forum rules
We hope that the Living in Taiwan forum will be of value to you and others. To ensure this, please note:

It is best to capitalize topics and to avoid vague titles. “Hi, I’m new” and “Help please” are examples of bad titles.

Before posting, please check the FAQ thread, and – more importantly – use the search function to ensure that your topic has not been discussed before and that there is not an existing thread you could update with your contribution.

While Living in Taiwan is a busy, wide-ranging forum, there are other specific forums for relationships, teaching, business, legal issues, animals, food, events, travel, restaurants, and so on. Check the Forumosa menu to find the most appropriate place for your post.

While it is preferable to post questions dealing with dissimilar topics in separate threads (“How Much for an Apartment in Tianmu?”, “Are There Many Foreigners in Tianmu?”), if you are a new arrival, it is possible to present numerous questions in one post, but realize that your thread will then, after two weeks, be merged into the New to Taiwan: Some Questions thread.

love those mark wiens videos, he did an awesome job. he totally covered all the main foods and he has the added entertainment value of making weird faces when he eats. i recently went to jilong night market and pretty much just ate all the things he had in his video from there!

Those are "normal" girls we get on our side of the pond hombre !
Besides with a title like that you should have gotten the general drift :raspberry:

Mark wines isn't bad, don't know how he could eat that disgusting sandwich in JiLong. Keelung (Jilong)...whatever. Giles should be reincarnated as Kiles for his folly, after all he only

Mark should come back for another visit. It's hard to believe he's in Taiwan for 10 days and never left the Taipei area (except for the Taoyuan airport). He also missed out a lot of good places to eat around Longshan temple and the Wanhua (Banka) area.

He certainly needs to get to the east coast and at least Tainan for the food experience...

It's only what we all do here, just we use text rather than video as our medium of telling others what we have experienced.
There are millions of people in the world. And none of those people is an extra. They're all leads in their own stories.

If you lose one sense, your other senses are enhanced. That's why people with no sense of humour have an increased sense of self-importance.

I like Kyde and Eric's series on Taiwan: they're food-and-travel enthusiasts too.

Saw Kyde and Eric's vids a few years ago. Good Stuff.
Micaela's vids are fun to watch. The fact that she is very cute helps :)

Remember when they had this contest about vids about visiting Taiwan a few years ago? Many people sent in vids of their visit . A lot of them were very good. Have to search for them again.

The first video with the blondes felt a little too "sponsored by the Taiwan tourism authority" for me.

I really like the Mark Weins videos because they feel way more organic and he's obviously really into the food. He also focuses on street food which I'm more interested in. I like that he shows some mundane everyday things in his videos like how to buy a subway ticket, which bus to take to get the the National Palace Museum, etc. Helpful for someone who's thinking about visiting. Going to check out more of his videos for other cities when I have some more time.
