Daily Photos - Part 13

Forum rules
We hope that the Living in Taiwan forum will be of value to you and others. To ensure this, please note:

It is best to capitalize topics and to avoid vague titles. “Hi, I’m new” and “Help please” are examples of bad titles.

Before posting, please check the FAQ thread, and – more importantly – use the search function to ensure that your topic has not been discussed before and that there is not an existing thread you could update with your contribution.

While Living in Taiwan is a busy, wide-ranging forum, there are other specific forums for relationships, teaching, business, legal issues, animals, food, events, travel, restaurants, and so on. Check the Forumosa menu to find the most appropriate place for your post.

While it is preferable to post questions dealing with dissimilar topics in separate threads (“How Much for an Apartment in Tianmu?”, “Are There Many Foreigners in Tianmu?”), if you are a new arrival, it is possible to present numerous questions in one post, but realize that your thread will then, after two weeks, be merged into the New to Taiwan: Some Questions thread.

I can see them on my computer using chrome, and also can see them on my android.

That is weird.

I'll upload them somewhere else when I get a chance and repost.

Super Hans wrote:It depends what you want to achieve. If you are after macro shots then take the shots as you would any other insect. If you want individual shots of the insects then early evening would be a good to view them, as some of them will be flashing but there will still be enough daylight around to show up the features of the insect - so in effect you pick out insect detail and the light the insect emits.
If you are after light trails, then you'll need probably a large f stop but a longer exposure and you'll definitely need a tripod. However, then you start getting in to the realms of iso and noise, of which the effects are particular to individual cameras.
Just experiment and see what you get.

Thanks. I'm not sure what I want to achieve because I'm not sure what's possible. We'll be there in the early evening - 6.30 to 8 I think. I suppose I'll just try lots of different things and see what comes out.

I just love how in my RSS feed I saw this and your other pictures right after seeing the "Taiwan 3rd happiest in Asia" thread.

For such a happy country, people sure do spend a lot of time looking grumpy.
