Struggling a little to get into it - too many (wannabe) kings.

I like the black pirate (Salladhor Saan) though - sounds like a Saffa, actually a British-Tanzanian who spent many years in Zimbabwe.

I'll have to look around for a link, as these are old movies from HK and Taiwan. Ther eis always teh same actor playing the head taoist priest, and his two bumbling iijits assistants, who are left in charge of the zombie-vampires, basically, vampires controlled by a taoist mantra in yellow paper stick to their forehead. Remove the paper and the vampire runs loose scaring and biting people. But the vampire can only "jump", can't walk or run normally, and usually has the arms fully extended, cvan't bend unless to strangle teh victim. There are also some with "ghost babies" and other spirits. But this belongs to the movie area, I think, even though there are about 8 of these movies they play on rotation in local cable.

Bit off topic: look for Grandma and Her Ghosts 魔法阿媽. It is a cute Taiwanese movie -OK, they paid to make it in Korea but the themse is 100% Taiwanese- and it has a lot of these traditions: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0223391/

Did you watch season 1? If you did it would/should all make sense.

Watched season 2 episode 3 last night. Pretty good. The casting of Margaery Tyrell and Brienne of Tarth was spot on.

I did watch Season 1, but I still thought the first couple of episodes of Season 2 were slow going because there were too many characters. I realise that's all necessary and I'm sure it's all going to come together well (I haven't read the books).

Game of Thrones Episode 3 was fantastic. The rewriting/ refining that they're doing with Theon and Margaery are excellent. Arya's brilliant. Glad they got a White Walker into this season - otherwise the audience would totally forget about them. Tyrion great. Not so sure about Shae (for both actress and character); curious where they're going with Yarra/ Asha, because so far the actress certainly hasn't shown the spirit displayed in the book.

I've read all the books published so far, and I'm hoping it's all going to come together - but the character list is continuing to expand, and I have no idea how he's going to narrow it for the novels to actually end, never mind how they're going to shoehorn it all in to a TV show. The beginning of Book/ Season 2 is positively streamlined compared to where it's going.

I think there's only 5, but don't worry, the turnover rate in his novels is pretty high.... ie people die all the time. (is that considered a spoiler?)
