The Killing - N.American version. Pretty good but 2 seasons to solve a murder
The Killing (Forbrydelsen) - Danish version. Very good and 20 episodes to solve.
The Killing 2 (Forbrydelsen) - Danish version. Excellent and 10 episodes.

Just finished the 2nd season of Forbrydelsen and it's a gooder. So many layers that it took me about as long to explain to my ladyfriend as it did to watch.

You can't ask for a better ticket. Aaron Sorkin and HBO have teamed up to create the next big thing in television. Jeff Daniels leads a very talented cast in The Newsroom. The first episode aired Sunday night and I am going out on a very firm limb to say this will be the hit of the summer. Sure, Breaking Bad is just around the corner, but it remains to be seen if the writers can save the shark jumping by turning hero to villain. It'll be interesting but my money is on The Newsroom. Sorkin is easily the best writer working in television and if the pilot is any indication, he hasn't lost a step with his fast-paced, intelligent dialogue. You heard it here first folks, run, don't walk to your nearest HBO provider and get on the bandwagon immediately.

I'm looking forward to breaking bad. the news that dexter will be ending in the next couple seasons has also revived my interest in the show, as I'm curious to see what they'll do to set up the final season with this one as the series runs closer to the finish line.

also usually a fan of Sorkin's scripts, but in newsroom's case I'm not so sure. these guys say it best for me:

anyway it's with some disappointment that I say that the newsroom is not a show I'll be following week to week.

Liked Touch a lot recently. It's from the creator of heroes.

Also enjoying Louie with Louis CK.

I LOVE Downton Abbey, and am enjoying Homeland. Sometimes I like to watch Hoarders because it improves my self esteem re. my housekeeping skills.

Having seen the movie now, I'd love to see the miniseries.

The film crams so much info into its relatively restricted running time that if you blink you could miss something. In some ways the anti-bloat of the movie is refreshing. And its lack of endless talking to explain what's happening is welcome too. But I'm curious to see how the story plays out when given much more time.

You absolutely should. I saw the movie on the plane. They did a pretty good job considering the constraints. I thought the HQ building shots looked great, both internal and external. My main complaint is again Tobe Esterhase--him and his scene were butchered.

Now that I've seen it, I want to see the series again.
