If anyone needs any further proof about the nature of Friends and those who watch it, they need go no further than Vang Vieng in Laos (and then, of course, get the hell out of Vang Vieng as I did).

That was funny. I still haven't seen most of those. My favorite is where they sing Oklahoma in the diner.

Is Friends the Simple Jack of the Vang Vieng tribesmen?

Americans do have a silly English/Scottish accent with only slight modification.

It's quite similar to this one, for example:

"Why do you want gas? It's hot. You can have cold showers" ~gas delivery man height of summer, 2010.

"Why you wear so many clothes? You are foreigner. Foreign countries are cold." buxiban owner, depth of winter 2011.

TT: If only it were so! It's the foreigners, high as kites, lounging around on cushions who watch friends. I can only imagine what the locals think of the whole spectacle. If I had to think of a show to watch whilst on mushrooms, Friends would not be high on my list.

Gut-dem foreigners, they're the same kinda people who think Jerry Lewis and Mr Bean are funny. Now The (british) Office or Flight of the Conchords, now they'd be funny on shrooms. Only great still running non cartoon US sitcom is 30 rock, and an occasional US The Office episode.

The worst thing about 'Friends' was that it was about a bunch of thirtysomethings who never got over high school.

I never thought of Friends as the same as Happy Days before other than being re-run way too much.

There were episodes where the Friends remembered their High School days and the plot was about getting over some issue that happened during that time :loco: .
