They will be crying for Murabak to come back soon.

However, I have always wanted to go to a stoning since watching the Life of Brian........
Jesus Quintana: Let me tell you something, pendejo. You pull any of your crazy shit with us, you flash a piece out on the lanes, I'll take it away from you, stick it up your ass and pull the fucking trigger 'til it goes "click."
The Dude: Jesus.
Jesus Quintana: You said it, man. Nobody
fucks with the Jesus.

Mr.Lahey: The shitabyss!
Randy: Mr. Lahey, not another night of the shitabyss, please?!
Mr.Lahey: Ah, fuck it.

This has been on the cards since the beginning of the 'Arab spring'

Only a myopic fool would think a western style shambolic excuse for democracy (allowing a few hundred lobbyists to decide how the country is ran) would result.
"War is just a racket. I helped make Mexico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for international banking in 1909-1912. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested" - Major General Smedley Butler

Well then its no different to the US house of reps and the Senate then. If they want to have Sharia law I am all for it.
Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it? That's what it is to be a slave!

Even if they treat women like dirt and persecute homosexuals and Christians?

...and then feel that it's their right to conquer their neighbors?

Copts were persecuted just as much by Nasser and his free officers, by Sadat and by Mubarak. While I'm displeased by the strong showing of Salafists and the Muslim Brotherhood, I think the threat of the Salafists gaining more representation in the upcoming elections in the Southern regions will moderate the MB into coalition building with the moderate and liberal parties. After all, they are more moderate than the Salafist party and more pragmatic.
So I got an expresso and a hot burrito!

I see that there are TWO Islamic parties, one of them apparently more fundamentalist than the other. Does this suggest the existence of nuances unsuspected by the Jewish and Christian right...perhaps even room for negotiation...? (Think of Turkey's AKP.)

Here is how I introduced [Buddhism to] my grandmother when she saw a chenrezig pendant hanging in my car:

Grandmother: Is that Buddha? Are you some kine of Buddhist? (in a sarcastic aggressive tone)
Me: No, it's a Chinese Jesus. (anything with Asian flair to her was chinese)
Grandmother: (tone now changed to happy and excited) Really? I did'nt know chinese had jesus?

No.

Everyone understands the differences between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafists - as in the difference between disaster and catastrophe.

And NO. You CANNOT compare either of them to the AKP.

Rocket fired from Egypt hits Israeli city of Eilat

Nice.

Fortunately, no casualties or damage.
As it is, we seem to regard it as a positive objection to a reasoner that he has taken one side or the other. We regard it (in other words) as a positive objection to a reasoner that he has contrived to reach the object of his reasoning. We call a man a bigot or a slave of dogma because he is a thinker who has thought thoroughly and to a definite end.
