Obama isn't a liar. He's a puppet. If you've got a problem with the gap -- gulf -- between what he says and what he does take it up with the puppet masters.
Totalitarianism: a political system in which the state recognizes no limits to its authority and strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life wherever feasible.

Since the thread is called "The Obama is a big fat liar thread" I should think its safe to assume this is not a suggestion, but a statement of fact, or a claim. Which as others pointed out as a politician that pretty much counts for every politician. Is he the biggest fattest liar of the lot? That's not the feeling I get. But the suggestion he is a terrorist (or at the least an extreme radical), how else do you interpret this from your article?

I think there is sufficient evidence out there that suggests if not outright proves that Obama lies. Is he the biggest liar? Dunno, but he may end up being the most expensive one. It's not MY article. I don't write for Forbes or Investor's Business Daily. I wish.

Do you think this is the direction the presidential race will take, dont vote for Obama hes a radical black man? I hope not, dont you?

I think the only one talking about his race here is you. As for attacking him for his radical past, who knows? He is very secretive about his radical past, if it exists, and many suggest it does, then yeah I think it could make him less electable. Americans don't much mind protestors, but radical or aggressive in your face protestors tend to piss off the common man.

I hope so. It will only further marginalize the right which they so richly deserve.

Yeah, O is a secret this and that. Only he's been in power for 3 years and is governing as a right of center democrat. If people want to make all kinds of conjecture about what radical things he might do in his second term they have simply excused themselves from rational discourse.

I would think the Left has been left out of the promises Obama made to them. There are many. And the fact that he has essentially continue Bush's policies on many fronts can't be all that pleasing.

Chris wrote:That foreign-born, socialist, rich-people-condemning, no-birth-certificate-having, healthcare-giving liberal!

Obama was born in Hawaii. If he is a socialist, he has not been a very successful one. I think he loves rich people, given how many of them turn up at his State dinners and fund raisers. He hasn't given anyone healthcare yet, and the Supreme Court will soon rule on whether or not he can. Liberal? meh.

Forbes and Investor's Business Daily are right wing conspiracy mongers? ACORN? What? Obama was the one who led people into city hall, blowing whistles and demanding to be heard, like there was any other option given the racket they were making, and then as president, signed a law making the same type of behavior illegal.

The anti-protestor law:
I'm referring to the bill H.R. 347 that was signed by President Obama the other day, passed unanimously in the Senate, and 388-3 in the House. That's nearly EVERY SINGLE lawmaker. The last time they agreed that closely on something, it was a bill raising monthly Congressional pay to include a box of Ding Dongs, two erotic cakes featuring Bonanza star Pernell Roberts, and a gentle yet inquisitive prostate exam every Tuesday.

What did this magical universally-loved bill say? Well some are calling it the anti-Occupy law and it allows the government to bring charges against Americans involved in many kinds of political protest at any location the secret service, quote, "is or will be temporarily visiting." So basically if the government wants to shut down a protest, they just send a secret service officer down there to scratch his balls, and then they can start putting people in jail for a year or more.

This is all lovely except for that bitchy bothersome document, the Constitution. I believe somewhere in the back it says, "Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech . . . or the right of the people peaceably to assemble." Aw shit! That musta sucked when Congress found that out! To get that close to passing it and then shot down? It musta been like getting hired to rub baby oil on the contestants of Miss Universe before the bathing suit portion of the competition and then losing your hands in a freak exploding cell phone accident! So when Congress heard about that first amendment they musta been like, "God damnit! That really f**ks up all our plans. That f**king line in the Constitution says not to do EXACTLY what we just did." That's what they must've said, right? ... They didn't just pass it anyway ... Right?

But the bill doesn't stop there. I mean, when you have the entirety of Congress with the exception of Ron Paul agreeing on something, why not swing for the fences? The bill also says it could be a federal crime to protest near an event of, quote, "national significance." Well, that's not vague at all. So you could be convicted of a federal crime and locked away for a year or more for the following things:

That's HuffPost, Chris. That horrible ring wing fear mongering site.

Sometimes it's hard to know when people are taking the piss, but this is too good to pass up (I'm a sometime lurker with some spare time at the moment):

Titles of editorials from today's Investors.com ("powered by Investor's Business Daily"):

Drill Our Way to Lower Oil Prices? Yes We Can!
Bigot Chris Matthews' War On Catholics And Mormons
What Obama's White House guest list reveals of his real priorities
Obama Has The Audacity To Lie About Stopping The Taliban
Iran's Nuclear Enabler Warns Tehran On America's Behalf
The White House Wants To Put Seaweed In Your Gas Tank
Deterring Iran's Nuclear Ambitions Is The Best Option

That's as good a line-up of rightwing nuttery as you're going to get right there. And from a link in another thread on here, from the same website:

In a new study, the Pew Center for the Internet and American Life Project confirmed what most intelligent Americans had long sensed. That is, whenever they are challenged or confronted on the hollow falsity of their orthodoxy -- such as, say, uniting diverse Americans -- liberals tend to respond defensively...
...
Only 1% of moderates would block or shut out someone who dared to disagree with them, compared to 11% of liberals, whose rate was nearly three times that of conservatives.
Online, liberals far less tolerant than normal people

Here's the graphic from the study:

So let's get this straight: (1) Liberals are not normal, they are not intelligent, and they subscribe to an orthodoxy that is hollow and false? (2) 11% of liberals block users who disagree with them compared with 4% of conservatives, and this makes liberals intolerant? 11 freakin' percent?

You're seriously claiming that Investor's Business Daily are not rightwing nuts and conspiracy-mongers? Seriously?

I read it for the business stuff. :D

I think they're business nuts.

They are also a business themselves. They are trying to sell "newspapers." Those are some interesting titles, for sure. Seem kind of headline grabby if you ask me. What do the articles say?

And surely, you can't claim that polls aren't pretty much useless in this day and age.

I wonder if actually expecting those we debate with to change their POV is just a windmill to tilt at. They don't believe in evolution. I think leaving them to their rhetoric by not even engaging them in the slightest is the only sane answer. They so deserve Santorum. I do feel real bad for the rest of yinz yanks though. It's really a shame that the backcountry bubbas among y'all are able to keep your potential so fettered.

Hey rousseau! Nice to see you again!

I think its best to target the message, rather than the messanger. The poll re sex was done by Match.com, and only reported by Investors.
As it is, we seem to regard it as a positive objection to a reasoner that he has taken one side or the other. We regard it (in other words) as a positive objection to a reasoner that he has contrived to reach the object of his reasoning. We call a man a bigot or a slave of dogma because he is a thinker who has thought thoroughly and to a definite end.

Ah, a conservative blocking someone with differing political views. If I didn't think the Investor's Business Daily were such nutbars I might adopt their logic and claim that all conservatives are intolerant. Eh?

Hi, Tigerman! Thanks for the welcome. But you've got a dirty mind...I wasn't talking about sex!
