He's doing the rubber-chicken circuit, collecting speaker's fees- 3 or 4 million over the last four years; nice work if you can get it but chicken feed compared to the Big Dog.

As for the pig farm, he moved out of out of Rancho Photo-op as quickly as he had moved in, buying a house in Dallas (quite modest at $2 million) as soon as he left the White House. I doubt if he's been back to the ol' Bush family homestead (purchased in 1999) since.

He did give a heart-felt four-word of endorsement of Romney; which is probably about all that the Mittster wants to hear from him for the next six months.

I'm actually glad when I don't hear from ex-politicians. At least when they're in power you can theoretically vote them out. There are a couple of ex-prime ministers in Australia who can't keep their mouths shut, despite making a complete hash of things when they were in power.

Especially notable here, where the Taipei Times just about has an orgasm every time some foreign ex-politician says how strongly they support Taiwan, but never seem to mention why they didn't do so when they were actually in office.

Amen to that. Though it doesn't get too much publicity, Bill Clinton shows up in Taiwan about once every three years to collect a big speaking fee for reminiscing about how important Taiwan is to America. Bill usually stays about 12 hours on average before flying off with an extra US$1 million or so in his pocket, no doubt laughing at the "dumb suckers" as he boards his flight home. I'm surprised that Bush Jr hasn't done the same, but maybe he isn't willing to set foot outside of the USA given the possibility of a war crimes criminal charge.

Eh I don't think Bushie will be so popular overseas, he can always pop over to the Saudis I'd he needs money. But he doesn't need money because his family is loaded anyway.
