True that Taiwanese girls prefer ABC guys?

Welcome to the Overseas Taiwanese Subforum. We hope this is a place where you can post your cross-cultural, east meets west upbringing, Tiger Mama/Dragon Baba issues. We understand that you look full on local on the outside, but have issues that pertain to growing up in a non-Taiwanese, non-Chinese environment. Confucian obligations and expectations probably apply to you, familial pressure to conform to traditions, etc. We know the drill. So come on in, get some things off your chest, and hopefully you will gain perspective from others who have been there and are going through the same. For other questions and discussions (in particular legal, passport and residency issues,) please continue to post in the relevant forums. Let's keep this for culturally sensitive topics. Thank you very much, and happy posting.

haha ... I must confess to having a couple of abc tracks in my MP3 collection. For reasons of historical curiosity only, of course.

Anyway ... I think it all boils down to this:

Maybe you should change the title to, True that "some" Taiwanese girls prefer RICH guys.

If you're ABC, then almost by definition your parents are rich, you've had an expensive education, and you've got good prospects. For many women - especially here, where money is the most important thing in life - that's a major selling point. How else do you explain the pudgy, balding guys carrying handbags for their poodle-wielding gfs/wives?

I don't mind admitting to liking ABC. When smokey sings, the look of love, be near me. Quality stuff. Them and Prefab Sprout were class acts.
There are millions of people in the world. And none of those people is an extra. They're all leads in their own stories.

If you lose one sense, your other senses are enhanced. That's why people with no sense of humour have an increased sense of self-importance.

Ah. Fans of the 80's. Well some quality music did come out of the era. I bet you two (pun) like The The?

Regards to the ABC's, huge generalisations and I'm sure certain types attract certain types. CBC's, BBC's and so on. It's all breeding. 23 million and counting, should be a choice for everyone with those sort of numbers. The look of love was a appropriate and ironically chosen song.
Just checking but you're a South African Engrish Teachur right? No. I'm a Russian nuclear physicist.
