Is it safe to tell a Taiwanese girl you think she's pretty?

Postby dorik » 22 May 2012, 11:45

She's the kind of girl that's very studious, lives at home, and is very close to her family. Would I be crossing any boundaries if I told her this?

no :)

she already know shes pretty. And in the beginning of the relationship she may see that as moving too fast. She knows you think shes pretty or else you won't be hanging around her. IF she asks you if you think shes pretty then you can say yes. But dont over do it.

wait a bit on that.

Thank you, sir. Potential disaster averted!

We aren't in a relationship. I've known her for a little while when she came to my country (I fell in love). Now, I have a master plan to win her over. Actually, not so much of a plan... I could be making a big mistake, but, I rejected a very nice scholarship so that I could go to Taiwan instead. I got a Huayu scholarship and now I'm off to Taiwan in September to learn Chinese and (possibly) pursue a master's degree in the hope that maybe, just maybe, we could be together.

Wow, good luck with that. I hope that one part of your anatomy that was doing the thinking was your head. Don't get too disheartened if you crash and burn though.

Ahhh the pursuit of love is so endearing (even if most such roads lead to some form of hair pulling )

And yet so noble (even if most meet a stone wall head on , or so it seems)

Seeing this comment makes me feel unwell, especially since I'm almost doing the same thing.

In the end I don't think I will get the person I want, but that's ok. Taiwan is my true love in many ways.

Indeed that is the "danger" for many. When you come to Taiwan you discover that there are OTHER girls about. Tons of them and you may get distracted.

No woman minds being told she is pretty. Just be careful on when and saying it, so she doesn't consciously or sub-consciously feel you are stalking.
