Have APRC by marriage and having an affair

Postby amying » 15 Feb 2015, 21:53

OK, so I'm not gonna say I'm asking for a friend...my spouse is Taiwanese and I'm having an affair. Can I be deported if found out and if that is what my spouse wants?
Haven't been found out yet, but who knows.....

I doubt they would deport you if you have an APRC.

You will be offered 1 year in jail or to buy your way out of jail. Your wife might also ask for some $$ and if you happen to have a kid then you can kiss him/her goodbye.

Your naughty mistress will got a similar punishment. Hopefully she isn't married or it will cost you an arm and a leg!

I really doubt you could get deported for banging some pus***s!

But who knows, in some countries where the religion of peace prevail, you would be beheaded!

Being deported is not the issue. It's being banned from reentry.

Adultery is a criminal matter so if you are convicted you risk jail time and a reentry ban. All foreigners now convicted of a crime face this. It's not a court decision but immigration and you can only appeal once you are out of the country.

It's no big deal if you plan on never leaving Taiwan. Ever.
“Everywhere else in the world is also really old” said Prof. Liu, a renowned historian at Beijing University. “We always learn that China has 5000 years of cultural heritage, and that therefore we are very special. It appears that other places also have some of this heritage stuff. And are also old. Like, really old.”

So my mistress isn't married and not Taiwanese. Does this make any difference? How much would one need to buy oneself out of jail?

So if I leave Taiwan I'll be banned from reentering?

If convicted of a crime yes. It's not a guarantee as immigration has discetion to enforce the procedure or not. Can't seevwhy they wouldn't for adultery.

Could be a 1-3 year ban.

Furthermore, is a conviction automatic cause for having APRC revoked? Plus that new law added regarding "attempting against morals" and such, to boot?

Remember we were discussing that a few days ago, that basically the first five years you have nationality you can lose it with stuff like this? I think APRC also has that danger.

Just for future reference, guys, unfortunately, if under divorce threat/process, you have to live the life of a monk -and as the saying says, the wife of Caesar must not only be caste but look caste. The latter portion, in youse guys case, is the most important. Any evidence will be used against you. And you will lose everything: properties, money, residence, children, and most vital, peace of mind, faith in humanity, your desire to live/love...

Just found this, and somewhat relieved: https://islandsidechronicles.wordpress. ... in-taiwan/

And in particular, this in that link "In the courts, adultery is difficult to prove. The defendant must be shown (in pics or video) to be definitely having sex with someone other than their spouse, BUT evidence got without knowledge of the people in the video can be dismissed as illegal evidence.

Funny thing here, if you are charged for taping or photographing someone without their knowledge or consent, you get something like 3 years behind bars. Not only that, your footage cannot be used in court because it was illegally obtained. Added to that, the penalty for adultery is only 1 year – why would anyone risk it?

So no secretly videotaping your spouse for evidence. There have been cases where infidelity has obviously been going on, but because of lack of (legally procured) hard evidence, the adulterer gets away, but the spouse who videotaped the affair gets thrown in jail.

End result – you need hard evidence to convict for adultery, but it’s very difficult to obtain, short of asking the couple to make a nice sex tape for you. Good luck with that!"

Can I hear a "whew" somewhere? :)
