How do you say guinea pig in Chinese?

Postby pengyou » 08 Apr 2012, 15:25

My dictionary says tun shu, and in the mainland they are called helan zhu but searching on either of these - even when using the traditional Chinese words for them, gets me nowhere.

That will do it! Is there a market in Xinzhu that sells pets - rodents, tropical fish, etc? I have looked at a couple in Miaoli county but not seen any of my cute little buddies (guinea pigs).

Yes, it's tien zhu shu. If you are looking to adopt some I have one whose friends have died. Guinea pigs are social animals and are not supposed to live alone but I don't want to keep buying new ones to keep the old ones company. If you want her I know another lady that is relocating and looking for a home for her two, so you could have three, for free and their housing systems as well.

Delicacy in Peru. They're tasty, but don't have very much meat on them.

They were first domesticated round that way as a food source.
