New panda cub on the way?

New panda cub on the way?

Postby Hokwongwei » 28 Mar 2015, 07:55

Yuanzai may be getting a younger sibling. Zookeepers in Taipei have been trying to get Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan to have another go at the whole sex thing, but their efforts have shown little fruit. Yuan Yuan, who is pretty eager, had her passion turn to rage when Tuan Tuan wasn't able (or... you know... willing) to deliver the goods, and the two got into a brawl. That must have been quite the spectacle.

The zoo ultimately had to resort to artificial insemination, the process used to create Yuanzai in the first place. If everything went well, we can expect another panda cub in a few months. Either way, it seems both of them missed their once-in-two-or-so-years chance to get some.
