Postby mamaky » 08 May 2012, 13:43

Hey, if we were to ask you guys to submit your photos to a photo contest on our Facebook Page, hosted by http://Mamaky.com, how open would you guys be to doing it? You guys have some beautiful kids!

Before deciding, 'Yeah, that'd be alright', I'd like to know:

What's it for?
Who's it for?
What would be done with the photos?
Who are you and why would I trust you with photos of my child?

It looks fine to me. It's a website offering a constantly changing selection of imported baby goods to members. I guess it's being set up by an American guy and his Taiwanese wife. I think my wife might be interested in it, since she's always searching for stuff to buy for our daughter online, and buys loads of clothes and other things for her from America and France.

I'd be okay with having my little girl's picture used on the site.
If I prioritized the acquisition of wealth above other purposes in life, I might still have come to Taiwan to study Chinese, but I doubt I would have remained here.

Hi Johnny,

Your products sound just up my alley, I will sign up.

As to photo submissions, when is the contest, what are the prizes?

I think we'd have a great time running a contest like this. Videos would be fun too, especially a 'funniest moment' one of your kid. This one never fails for me (hope you like it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Azocomon_iM

Thanks Jaboney for some of those points to think about when we author our privacy policy. Locals might not be as open to submitting their kids photos? Well, unless the incentive is right I suppose. That one we'll have to think about.

By the way, if you haven't signed up yet, please do. Invite a Friend, and earn $250 (when they make their first purchase) while your friend gets an immediate $150.

And apologies in advance for having to add this promotional snippet.

Where's the English page? Maybe I'm not seeing it. I tried to register and I think the Chinese is telling me my email and pw don't match.

Your site is unusable. Not interested. Its not like there aren't a thousand places here for baby clothes. I can't see what you're selling, therefore you lost a customer.

@914 hope you went back and were able to signup. So you know, I'm not too fond of my pre-registration process either, with the temporary code thing and all that.

@Sandman, sorry to hear that. Hopefully you'll give us a try again when you hear more about us after we've launched. I think its great you continue supporting the local stores. They offer many things an online store never can.. On a diff. note, Metallica was one of my favorite bands growing up man! Now I'm just a father with a slight beer belly. :) *Though I think thats how half the people who listen to Metallica look. :)

.. and now I'm going to go post my girl's picture in the other thread, seeing that I'm going a bit too off topic here..

The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours. No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen. And the fact that it practically always doesn't, matters not a jot. The possibility is always there -- MONICA BALDWIN
