Baby commercials

Postby dix2111 » 13 Jun 2005, 23:56

I took my 10 month old to a yoyo baby crawling race a few weeks ago.
One look at a cookie and she was off and running towards me. We won the race and was offered a chance to have me and the wife appear with our daughter in a commercial.

There isnt any money involved but I think a free lunch and a copy of the commercial. I believe its going to be on the shoppping channel.

The problem is that I don't really like what they are selling. It's not too bad but it's not as good as what I'm already using.

Another thing is I'm afraid they are going to make us look like slack jawed idiots. I've seen what they do to people.

Has anyone ever done this and was it a good experience?

Should we be getting paid? The money isnt important but I would hate to be the only one not getting any loot.

If you don't believe in what you're advertising, you should get paid.

You should get paid!! I can't believe they'd try to hire you on the "opportunity" and a copy to take home!

Others do kids modeling here... they'll give you an idea of what to expect in terms of pay.

And if you don't even like the product, double.

We went to an audition and were told that our son would be paid $10,000 NT for an eight-hour working day pay. I think you should demand the pay if you are going to do the work for them. :)

my wife did this

Postby Shawerma » 26 Jun 2005, 23:13

My wife went for a commercial shooting and I think it was the real estate channel. It lasted about thirty minutes and they paid NT$1200. They picked her up along with my wife's older sister and baby (and brought everybody home). My wife had a good time with it and she met the lady that introduces all the apartments. The only thing was that the shooting didn't start until around 9:30 p.m. A little late and our daughter's mood wasn't the best as a result. I don't know if this will lead to anything else but I don't really care!

My daughter was paid 120,000 for a Quaker Milk Powder ad. I don't think you should do it without being paid. I mean why would you?

And we don't even get to see a picture!? No fair!

Since we're on the topic of ads, whose kid and wife is that on sugar billboard by Jianguo and Xinyi, with the baby nursing? Way to go!

baby spot

Postby dix2111 » 06 Jul 2005, 15:24

Well, we did the ad a few weeks ago. I really didnt wantto do it but the wifey insisted. I really don't likethe productbut some people do so it's not like a was hawking poison baby cookies. My worry is that I didnt want to say my lines so I just goofed around like an idiot in front of the camera.
I really should get paid for this humiliation.
I don't think I will ever do it again.
