Am I able to buy dates in Taipei?

Postby benhaminyoung » 29 Apr 2012, 19:12

Hi I'm a vegan living in Taipei, and I'm looking for some easy calories in the form of some Medjool dates, or any other variety. I realise there probably isn't any locally produced, but can I get imports from anywhere?

Most of the organic stores (EarthLife etc.) will carry boxes of dates, varying quality. Expect to pay $250 and north of that. Hard to buy them fresh, I think.
I'm a raisin chap, myself.
It's raining again here. I'm rising up like a beautiful bubble to the surface.

A wicked wind whips up the hill, a handful of hopeful words.

Costco sometimes has dates; also check the DIY baking supply stores (see the sticky near the top of this forum)

I didnt misinterpret but . . . . nice. Sounds like my line.
You can find dates, the fruit, at most night markets. BTW, I have an awesome Date Cake recipe handed down from at least 5 generations. Find the dates and let me know. I'll share. Simply scrumptious. FUCK! did I just use "scrumptios?" Spank my ass!
