Why does beer month suck this year?

I always look forward to beer month at 7-11. The past few years they have offered Samuel Adams and those good Hawaiian beers during the summer. This year they are offering something called extra strong bear beer, that French beer that they always offer, and some other beer from Italy. What will it take to bring the Hawaiian beers back? At least they have the Gordon Biersch beers.

I enjoyed being able to get Monteith's, especially one I hadn't tried before (either back in NZ, or at KGB Burgers). I also quite liked the Kapuziner wheat beer.. very Hoegaarden-ish. That bear beer was pretty shit though.

Why does it suck ... it's a pretty OK collection for a 7-11 and for a convenience store in Taiwan ... and they are cheap this year if you buy a 4-pack or 3 at a time ...

The New Zealand is good and 1664 is okay. Real guinness and a few others i haven't tried. The price is great. I spending the equivalent of $50-60 on a bottle if beer in China. But yeah the Hawaians would be great again. I remember being on Mazu when they came out. Mmmmmmm

I thought the Bear Beer was shit the moment I looked at it. And I haven't even tasted it. The can looks too generic.

Sure, if you're used to Miller light and Bud than it can taste like shit ... a strong beer doesn't taste like normal beer ... Bear Beer is what it is, a strong Lager ... BTW, they have another strong Lager brewed in Sweden I think.

Canning beer is not the best way to pack beer for sure ... but for export, cutting cost, recycling ...

I dunno, but personally I slightly prefer the Monteith's Single Source over any of last year's American selection. Also check Carrefour--they have three or four beers from Saranac Brewery of Utica, NY now. Just enjoying a bottle of their IPA as I type... light fruity bitter hops, bit thin on the aftertaste but not baahh.
