Yes, but we still ask that you post in the existing thread, in the topically relevant forum (I've moved this for you). Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Does anyone know where to buy bags of Quinoa in Taichung?

Myself and about 15 other friends are looking for a supply.

We have checked at least 7 organic food stores in Taichung: nope
Carrafore: nope
Costco: nope
Jason's: nope
RT Mart: nope
Gaint: nope

If any of you Taipei folks have a bag of Quinoa, could you please look on the back, perhaps there is the phone number of the distributor.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers

Look for the little organic/health food stores in Taichung. I've seen at least 10 in Kaohsiung and all of them have had Quinoa. This is one of the pleasures/displeasures about shopping in Taiwan. Mom and pops stores are still the norm and it's common to run to 6 different stores to get all of your groceries. Of course most of what I buy at the mom and pops is non-perishable so I simply buy a 2-3+ months supply.

But can anyone find it for less 330NT for 1/2 kg? taiguile!

Whole grain, or ground? 蕎麥 qiao2mai4 is buckwheat, acc. to nicku. I think I got my buckwheat flour (Bob's Red Mill) at Wellman's in Tianmu (it's great for adding one Tbsp. to rustic bread dough). If you read back through this thread, BP said you could get the seeds at some local supers. I'd try there and your local health food store first.

Postby michaebr » 14 Jun 2012, 16:10

I'm looking for quinoa seller in Taipei, went to Dihua st. but they don't know sellers around that area, anyone was able to buy/find quinoa (preferable uncooked or not processed) in Taipei?
Thanks for your suggestion/comments

Used to sell Achat-brand "bio" quinoa in RTMart but haven't seen it in a while, unfortunately. It was pretty good.

If you run a search with quinoa in the thread title you'll find a pre-existing thread on this topic. Please be sure to search before starting a new thread -- thanks! :) I'll merge this for you.

It seems this can be easily found, I found it in the mom/pop stores which sells rice, flour, etc. and also in Dihua st. (grain whole seller in Taipei).
Thanks for your suggestion/comments
