Auto Checkers. The Vehicle Inspection Centre

Welcome to the forum for all things related to the internal combustion engine and or driving in Taiwan. Topics including (but not limited to) drivers' licenses, vehicular issues, what to do in traffic accidents, driving in Taiwan, good mechanics, etc. are all excellent candidates for this forum.

The new article and travel video is up as well as a new useful and emergency contacts page.

The article and video is meant as an introduction to Taiwan driving and some ideas on the popular as well as lesser known places.

The trip is a three and a bit day trip, hence the name of the article, although it is best extended to include more of the local sights.
Its quite a heavy drive, meaning that it can be quite tiring for those who aren't used to twisty mountain roads and mad truck drivers.
This is my own favourite route around the island which I have done about six or seven times now.

Please check it out

I've just put up the Chinese part of the site.

I'm just trying to find any Gremlins in there. If anybody sees one, feel free to let me know. Thanks.

There are now some additional English to Chinese tech terms too.

Autocheckers: Great Expat Service, Now Helping Animal Rescue!

Postby Ex Animo » 25 Aug 2011, 13:42

Image

Ladies and Gentlemen,

For the last seven years, Autocheckers has been providing a reliable, valuable, competitive service to expats in Taiwan, and many of you can already attest to the high standards of their work. Currently, the Taiwan Animal S.O.S. rescue vehicle is in their good hands, being completely overhauled to get it back on the road in great shape to help us continue and expand our animal-rescue work, and we are very excited to see the amazing transformation the van is going through.

To support our work, Autocheckers have offered an incredibly generous deal: For every customer that mentions Taiwan Animal S.O.S. (or TASOS), Autocheckers will donate 10 percent of the profits of the final invoice to our rescue organisation—that is going to be a huge help towards the cost of fixing up our rescue van.

So, if you are in the market for getting your vehicle serviced, repaired, or inspected, or if you are looking to buy a vehicle or need help sourcing one, please give Autocheckers a call and mention Taiwan Animal S.O.S. when you do—you'll not only be getting great service, but will also be making a significant contribution to our animal-rescue efforts.

Autocheckers are located at No. 449-1 Chende Rd. Section 6, Taipei, Taiwan. Call Jamie on 0939 090 807 to discuss your vehicular needs. For more information, check out the Autocheckers website: http://actaiwan.com. Also, be sure to join the Autocheckers Facebook page to receive valuable money-saving tips in your news feed.

Huge thanks to Autocheckers for taking on the unenviable task of getting our rescue van in tip-top condition and for so generously supporting animal rescue in Taiwan. :bravo:

And here, for your enjoyment, is a little video of one of our most recent rescues, Lucky (now in need of a home, even temporarily):

To help more animals in need like Lucky, please be sure to call Autocheckers today for a quote on whichever vehicle service you need—thank you!

Our rescue vehicle looks and feels (and smells) like new! We're absolutely delighted (and amazed)! Pics coming soon.

And AutoCheckers were a HUGE help dealing with the vehicle office—really not sure how we could have done it without their professional help. :notworthy:

Here are a couple of phone pics of the finished animal rescue van. Sorry, there aren't more of the interior. I'll see if I can find some more later.
Please support Taiwan Animals S.O.S. so that we can help keep the van in its present condition.

Haha. No, that isn't me. i can't afford to have so much hair.

PLEASE though people, its up to you to mention Taiwan Animals S.O.S. when you get your car serviced or repaired at our facility if you wish for your money to go towards animal rescue. Up to now we are still waiting for people to make us donate. If you yourself don't have a car, but know someone that does, or perhaps you know someone who already brings their car to us; then let them know what to say the next time they visit and BINGO! Ten percent towards animal rescue. Its THAT simple! :)

I know it's been a while since any updates.
This is just to let people know that I'm back in Taiwan and things are back to relatively normal once more. As always if you need any assistance car related, then just give me a shout. 0939090807 / customer@actaiwan.com . I'm working on the new website at this point, which will hopefully give A.C. a fresh look yet still maintain an easy, fuss free style. I am also working on a contract for foreigners who wish to purchase cars on an instalment basis. These will be limited to low budget vehicles (around 100,000NT), at least to begin with, and only vehicles directly provided by A.C.. We will be restarting the rental car service once again, offering some cheap budget rentals which, as before will of course be cheaper than the competition. So that's just the update which covers what's going on over the next few weeks and to basically allow people to know the situation at this time. Yay! It's great to be back to work in Taiwan!
